David-James Stott

David is a Senior Associate Solicitor and heads the personal injury and dispute resolution department at the firm. He has extensive experience in dealing with all types of personal injury claims and civil litigation including claims that go to Court. This includes matters from road traffic accidents to serious and severe workplace injuries.

David currently considers all personal injury enquiries however he has a special interest in serious and catastrophic injuries occurring in the workplace.

In addition to workplace claims he deals with the following:

  • road traffic accidents (especially motorcycle and bicycle claims);
  • medical negligence claims;
  • slip, trips and falls in public and private;
  • injuries while on holiday;
  • prison incidents;
  • fatal injuries;
  • uninsured and untraceable driver applications through the Motor Insurers Bureau;
  • Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority applications and all other criminal injuries.

He regularly carries out home visits and is happy to give a free initial consultation. He is able to see clients at all of our offices.

David also increasingly advises on civil litigation matters. This includes advocacy, landlord and tenant, dispute resolution, acting for local companies, businesses and general civil law advice.

He grew up in Lincolnshire and is very passionate about the county. He has previously been a town councillor. In his spare time he enjoys spending time with his daughter, running and watching motorsport.

2013 - Degree in law LLB(Hons)

(Elected President of the Student Law Society for the year 2012).

2014 - Bar Professional Training Course (BPTC).

(Called to the bar of England and Wales, The Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn).

2015 - Admitted and enrolled as a barrister of the Gibraltar Supreme Court.

2016 - Admission as a solicitor of the Senior Courts of England and Wales.

2017 - Masters degree in law (LLM), with focus on injuries indirectly caused by police negligence.

2018 - Higher Rights of Audience (Civil and Criminal), solicitor-advocate.

2019 - Fellow and chartered legal executive of the Charted Institute of Legal Executives (FCILEx)

 

2020 – Confirmation of full qualification and practising certificate as a barrister in England and Wales.
