Extract from the Grantham Journal, 23rd February 2007 edition

Bird & Co. Solicitors LLP have offices in Grantham, Newark and Long Bennington, specialising in all areas of law, including personal injury, family law, crime, wills and inheritance tax planning. The business has experienced many positive changes recently, with new premises opening in Long Bennington, the Newark offices moving to larger premises, and the arrival of a new head of personal injury and civil litigation - Caroline Christopher.

Bird & Co. Solicitors LLP also run website-based, A1 Road Traffic Lawyers who deal specifically with speeding offences committed by people all over the country. People faced with loosing their licences can enlist their services for a fixed fee. For more information visit the website www.a1-roadtrafficlawyers.com

The Long Bennington office on Main Road is run by Jo Carpenter who has been a solicitor for 16 years. Jo specialises in wills and probate, and has a particular interest in working with the elderly. She said: “The elderly need special care because they are vulnerable and often need help when they are making decisions about things like wills, powers of attorney and nursing homes. I particularly enjoy this part of my work and I am a member of Solicitors for the Elderly and the Probate Section of the Law Society”. Jo is joined by John Thurston, an expert in inheritance tax planning, trusts, tax and wills. John contributes to many legal text books and lectures the profession through seminars.

Head of personal injury and civil litigation Caroline Christopher joined the Grantham branch in Castlegate at the start of the month. A member of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers, she has 10 years experience and specialises in personal injury law. She said: “I’m available to see personal injury clients regarding issues such as accidents at work, road traffic accidents and any other accidents that occur outside of the home where the injured person is not at fault”.

Caroline works with Guy Jones, a civil litigation specialist covering contract disputes, employment law issues, and commercial disputes amongst others.

Also at the Grantham branch are managing partner Estelle Conron, who specialises in family law, senior partner Chris Milligan, who heads up crime, and Jane Overland, partner and head of the property department.

The Newark branch recently moved from Middle Gate to Kirk Gate, taking over larger premises due to the expansion of the business. At Newark all areas of law are covered, including conveyancing, wills and probate, personal injury, family law and crime.
